The Isle of Mull is is the second largest island of the Inner Hebrides, with white sandy beaches, fantastic scenery and abundant wildlife. The Cottage is centrally located for Tobermory to the north and Fionnphort and Iona to the south.
It is easily reached by car ferry from Oban (2 ½ hours from Glasgow) or Lochaline (3 ½ hours from Glasgow). There are two separate ferry routes running throughout the year.
Visitors using the Oban / Craignure ferry are strongly advised to book space with Caledonian MacBrayne on 08000 665000 or www.calmac.co.uk
On leaving the ferry at Craignure turn right and follow the A849 for 12 miles, you will pass through the village of Salen. When you reach Aros Bridge there is a right hand bend in the road (signposted Dervaig to the left) follow the bend round and you will see a right hand turn just ahead. Follow this track round, you’ll come to some tall black gates on your left – Heriot Cottage is the first cottage inside these gates to your left
